December Meeting Notes

Good afternoon to all:
Despite the rainy, cold, windy day old man winter sent us yesterday, seven members got out and faced this nasty stuff and met at the Butts and Barley Smokehouse in Canton. After greeting each other we sat down and everyone placed their order of the delicious BBQ Eva and her staff serve. I said the blessing after Tom removed the fork from his mouth as he had already starting chowing down on some of that good old BBQ like a pinned up pit bull that hadn’t had a bone in five weeks! We all still love you Thomas!
After everyone had a belly full and some more fellowship we opened the meeting.
Our Web Master, David B brought us up to speed with updated information on our Chapter’s web page and E-Mail.
We discussed changing the regular scheduled meeting date to alternate days during the week. This was put to a vote which was unanimous to keep the regular scheduled meeting as is. The 2nd Saturday of each month.
A membership Roster was passed out to each member in attendance to be updated for the upcoming fiscal year to
be sent in to International with the renewals. Please make sure to let Tom S. know if there’s been any changes in your job status, contact number or e-mail address.
VP Matt Hester then discussed idea’s on our Club’s New Year’s Resolutions for 2019 which included a Raffle to donate money to a local Charity/General Fund. Secretary/Treasurer Tom S brought up a great idea for 2019 in which our Chapter VI Members will get together a work detail to go to the homes of needy Senior Citizen’s to help with clean up and small repairs to help make their lives a little less stressed. We will start working on these projects next year.
We then discussed the 2019 SRC Spring Conference, to be held in Mobile AL hosted by AL II, the Annual Georgia Police Memorial Ride in April and the Blue Knights International Convention 2019 to be held in Rye Brook NY
in Aug. hosted by NY II. Upcoming rides closer to home were discussed which included a day ride to the Dillard house, Murphy NC, Highlands NC, an overnight ride to Iron horse and Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley NC.
Also discussed was a M/C Rider Safety Day at the Forsyth S.O in the Spring. After keeping the old Iron Horses in the stables all winter we’ll be ready to wipe the dust off and hit the road. I know I sure will be!
Please mark your calendar’s for January 1st for our annual New Years Day party at the Old Blind Dog Restaurant at 2:00 PM. This has been a club tradition for years. This is a great way to start the year off right together with our Blue Knights VI Family.
Last but not least our 50/50 drawing winner was Terri O. – congrats Terri on the big win!!! Until next time,
Ride With Pride and be safe when you do!
