Year In Review

Good evening to all:

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Santa was good to you! It’s hard to believe we are at the end of 2018 and getting ready to bring in the New Year 2019. Old man time waits for no one! As you all know within the past couple of years this Club has taken a few licks and has hit a few bumps in the road with the passing of two of our beloved BK brothers. Other members have had severe accidents or illnesses while other members have moved away to other states. Alone with this we had a vacancy in the President and VP positions. We began to go months without holding any meetings. We were not going on any rides or events. We were slowly losing the tight bond we once shared as members of this MC Club. All of the above mentioned issues caused our Blue Knights Chapter VI to suffer and as a result we were on the verge of having to close this Chapter.

But thanks to our past President Bill Anastasio who sent out a E-Mail to this fact, and our Secretary/Treasurer Tom Southwell who called for a meeting to jump start us, we were able to avoid losing our chapter. With this being said, I am happy to announce that our Family of Blue Knights VI are on our way back to becoming a strong club again. As President and with Matt Hester as our new Vice President I am looking forward to bringing in the New Year. We have begun to have our regular monthly meetings, along with hooky rides and other events, and have started our 50/50 drawing to help with the General Funds. We also have a new updated Web Page and Face Book Page thanks to our new Web Master David Booth.

I’m excited to see what the New Year brings to this club. We have a number of events to work on in 2019 which includes day and weekend rides, Charity events and other fun things to do as a club. We also have some Club community projects in the works along with recruiting new members to our Chapter.

Recently I was looking over photos of our past rides to Iron Horse, our Christmas Parties, and the Ronald McDonald event which brought so many smiles to so many little faces. I thought how this should be the goal for each and every one of us to bring this club back to this point. We can and we will, so let’s all pull together in 2019 to make it happen!

I’m looking forward to our New Years Day Meeting at the Olde Blind Dog Irish Pub 12650 Crabapple Rd. Milton Ga. Tues. January 1, 2019 @ 2:00 PM. Hope to see everyone there on the 1st.

Until next time,

Ride With Pride and be Safe!

Frank Goss, President Blue Knights Georgia VI
