February Meeting Notes

Good Afternoon to all:

This past Saturday February 9th we held our regular scheduled meeting at the Habaneros Mexican Restaurant in Woodstock. There were 8 members and guest at the meeting which brought the total in attendance to 13. Four of the above eight members turned their noses up at old man winter and the temps that only reached to the upper 30’s range, and crawled right up on the old Iron Horses. Yours truly was one of the four along with Matt & Terri H, Randy H and Bruce K. My hat is off to all of you for being “Hard Core” Riders!!!!.

After Randy H blessed our meal we all enjoyed a great Mexican Lunch thanks to our host Ernesto. After everyone finished their meals we had the 50/50 drawing. Terri H had the lucky number! Congratulations
Terri!

Our VP Matt Hester Opened the meeting with bringing us up to speed with the upcoming raffle prizes he has been working on which are very nice prizes. We should be close to having everything put together by our March Meeting.

We then discussed the RMDH cookout set for May 28th. Barbara H. has volunteered to drive her vehicle with the items that can’t be carried on a MC. Barbara will be putting together a list of items needed for the cookout
and sending it out to everyone. Please let her know what you will be contributing ASAP. As of two days ago per Bill A we still have 3 slots open so let’s work on filling these slots. If anyone needs the RMDH link for the registration form please let me know and I will get it to you.

We then discussed the 2019 SRC Conference to be held in Mobile Ala. April 11-14. Ashbury Suites Hotel is giving the Blue knights a good rate and the registration
fee is only $70.00 per person and $130.00 per couple. This will be a great Conference to attend and a good time to fellowship with other Blue Knights Brothers and Sisters. I have been informed by Mike Shockley the room
block is filling fast so get your registration and room reservations in ASAP if your planning to attend this conference.

When the upcoming Georgia Police Memorial Ride was open for discussion other members expressed negative experiences they have had on this ride. David B suggested our group ride down to the starting location then branch off on our “own” ride. All members agreed this was a good idea.

After discussing other future rides we closed the meeting and each went our separate ways.

As a final foot note, I spoke with RC and he informed me that he had recently undergone a 4 hr. emergency surgery that turned into a 11 hr. surgery on his back. Please keep RC in your thoughts and prayers that he has a speedy recovery. Until next time,
Ride with Pride
